| I have a policy holder that wants to see in writing that liability coverage extends to a rental car when rented for pleasure use : while on vacation. I have always understood that this is so, but can't find anywhere in our auto policy manual that this is so. HELP! Have I been wrong? is this not true? where can i find the answer?

I would contact Auto Underwriting and have them get you something. Or maybe call your local claims office for them to fax over something with it in writing.

In your policy look under Part A - Liability Coverage - we will pay for bodily injury or property damage for which any covered person become legally responsible because of an auto accident.
I think most companies read the same way.
Hope that helps

Thank you both for your advice. I contacted both claims and underwriting just now and they are unable to produce anything for me.
I gave the policy holder the auto policy booklet to read after I read to him over the phone the liability coverage and that is not good enough for him because it doesn't specifically identify a rental car.
i just don't know what to tell this guy. sounds to me like he just needs to buy the coverage from the rental car company!!
he's driving me nuts!

Good luck. I know we get some like that in our office everyone once in a while. They just are never happy with what you can provide.
