I have starting doing "Breakfast at the Gate" at the local apartment complexes.  I first get the permission from the apartment manager to set up a table outside of the apartment enter/exit gate on a friday morning 7am -830am.

on the morning of the event I buy 50-100 (depending on how many tenants they have) Kolaches or breakfast tacos and orange juices.  i will have already prepared quotes for a 10k policy for that apartment complex.  i also bring renters insurance brochures.

the whole staff and the agent go to the complex and set up a table decorated with our office logo & state farm logos.  he parks his state farm wrapped mini cooper at the gate as well for marketing.  We hand out breakfast and a juice along with a brochure and a quote to each person as they leave the complex.  if they want us to contact them we also get their name and number to call and discuss it further.

we have gotten a lot of new business this way.  It also gives us the opportunity to offer auto insurance and life insurance as well as other products.
